Issue Description : Users may see that certain components are continually updating when updating Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.

Final Update : 19/07/2023 09:32:00 AM – Microsoft completed the validation and release of the code fix, and affected users will need to perform a Windows Update to signature version 1.393.737.0 or newer to fully remediate this issue. For users that have updated their signature version, they confirmed the issue has been remediated via internal testing and service telemetry.

Scope of impact : Impact is specific to users who are served through the affected infrastructure who are attempting to manually update Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.

Root cause : A recent service update is causing the Microsoft Defender for Endpoint client being unable to confirm whether or not certain components have been successfully updated when users update the client, causing users to see a continual loop of installation.

Next steps : Microsoft are continuing their review of the impacting service update to better understand the underlying cause of impact and prevent similar issues in the future.
