Issue Description : Users may have been unable to access Outlook on the web.

More info : Affected users may have been able to use the Outlook desktop client if they had access to that connection method. They may have seen the following 500 error message when trying to access Outlook on the web: “Something went wrong. An unexpected error occurred and your request couldn’t be handled.”

Final Update : 26/06/2023 09:09:00 AM – Microsoft confirmed that the fix deployment has completed successfully, and using telemetry, they have established that impact has been remediated.

Scope of impact : Impact was specific to some users who were served through the affected infrastructure attempting to access Outlook on the web.

Root cause : A recent standard service update inadvertently contained a code regression, causing unexpected access failures.

Next steps : Microsoft are reviewing their standard service update procedures to better identify similar issues during the development and testing cycles.
