Issue Description : Some users may be unable to see messages with attachments when searching in Exchange Online.

More info : This issue could affect searches that include messages with attachments in any Exchange Online connection method, including methods such as Outlook on the web and the Outlook desktop client.

Any email messages received since June 16, 2023, aren’t impacted.

Final Update : 14/08/2023 08:50:00 AM While attempting to create a code change that optimizes and expedites the ongoing reindexing process, Microsoft determined that it isn’t feasible to reindex the entirety of the affected environment within an acceptable timeframe. They’ve already remediated impact for most affected users through manual reindexing, and they recommend contacting support if your organization is still experiencing this issue so they can manually reindex the affected email messages and completely remediate impact. No additional email messages sent or received outside of the impact period are affected.

Scope of impact : Some users attempting to search for email messages with attachments in Exchange Online may be impacted by this event.

Root cause : A recent update to improve the indexing of attachments in Exchange Online introduced a code issue, which is resulting in impact.
