Issue Description : Users can’t sign in to the OneDrive for Business sync client after a recent User Principal Name (UPN) change.

More Information : Users couldn’t sign in to the OneDrive for Business sync client after a recent UPN change.

Final Update : 10/03/2023 08:05:00 AM – Microsoft have confirmed that a caching issue occurring on the discovery service was preventing recent UPN changes from being respected, resulting in the impact. They have disabled the affected cache from the affected workflow to remediate the impact, and confirmed with affected users that this issue is resolved.

Scope of impact : Your organization was affected by this event, and any user included in a recent UPN change was affected.

Root cause : A caching issue occurring on the discovery service was preventing recent UPN changes from being respected, resulting in the impact.

Next steps: Microsoft are continuing our investigation into the discovery service to determine what caused the offending caching issue and prevent this issue from occurring in the future.
