Issue Description : Users may have been unable to add events to the Public Folder calendar in Outlook on the web.

More info : Users would have seen the following error in the top right part of the window:
Event action failed for: (Name of created event). There is a more details option below this.

Scope of impact : Any user attempting to add events to the Public Folder calendar in Outlook on the web is impacted.

Final Update : 19/10/2022 13:25:00 PM – Microsoft has confirmed with affected users that the issue has been fully remediated following the revert of the offending change.

Root cause : A recent change intended to optimize calendar functionality introduced a code issue which resulted in impact.

Next steps : Microsoft is reviewing their calendar functionality optimization processes and procedures so they can better identify similar issues during their testing and development cycles as that will allow them to avoid comparable impact in the future.
