Issue Description : Some users may be unable to edit or save content in the Office mobile Android and iOS app

More info : Users experiencing the issue will be thrown an “error 403” message.

Scope of impact : Impact is specific to some users who are served through the affected infrastructure.

Final Update : 20/05/2022 08:34:00 AM – The fix to revert the offending code change has fully saturated the affected infrastructure and Microsoft have confirmed via monitoring that impact has been remediated.

Root cause : A recently deployed service update created a misconfiguration within the feature responsible for saving and editing files via Office mobile content.

Next steps : To help prevent similar impact in the future, Microsoft are further reviewing the underlying cause of the misconfiguration that was introduced in the recent service update.
