Issue Description : Admins may be intermittently unable to access the Exchange admin center (EAC).
Scope of impact : Impact is specific to a subset of admins who are served through the affected infrastructure.
Final Update : 20/05/2022 03:13:00 PM – Microsoft determined that a recent update deployment correlated with the reports of impact starting. They suspect that this update is the underlying cause of the issue and have reverted the change. Since reverting the update, monitoring telemetry has shown CPU utilization has remained stable and they have received confirmation from previously impacted admins that the issue is no longer occurring.
Root cause : A recent service update unexpectedly caused high CPU utilization on components which facilitate EAC assess, resulting in impact.
Next steps : Microsoft are analyzing the contents of the update to determine why it resulted in high CPU utilization.
Microsoft are reviewing our updating procedures to identify why this issue was not identified within the testing phases.
