Issue Description : Users may be unable to open Office files hosted on SharePoint sites or OneDrive via Office for the web.
More info : While Microsoft are working to remediate impact, affected users can download Office files and open them with the desktop Office application. Excel users may experience more impact than other Office users.
This is affecting users opening Office files through the web app from SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business and Microsoft Teams.
Scope of Impact : Impact is specific to a subset of users who are served through the affected infrastructure.
Final Update : 24/04/2022 02:15:00 PM – Microsoft completed their investigation of the underlying issue and have taken steps to prevent the problem from re-occurring. The results of their service monitoring remained stable, and they now consider this incident fully resolved.
Root cause: Microsoft have determined that a third-party network change resulted in intermittent connection failures while traffic was routed through our standard network infrastructure.
Next steps : Microsoft have reconfigured our network infrastructure to fix the issue, which will allow us to safely reroute service traffic back to the standard network.
