Issue Description : Guest users without a Microsoft Teams license are unable to join external Microsoft Teams meetings.

More info : Affected guest users see the following error message: “Can you please sign in again? Sorry for any inconvenience.”

This affects the Microsoft Teams web and desktop clients.

Scope of impact : Your organization is affected by this event, and any guest users without a Microsoft Teams license who attempt to join external Microsoft Teams meetings are impacted.

Final Update : 04/05/2022 07:38:00 AM – Microsoft finished reverting the update to resolve the issue. They have monitored the environment and performed internal testing to confirm the impact is remediated.

Root cause : A recent Microsoft Teams web version update contains a regression, which is preventing guest users without a Microsoft Teams license from joining external Microsoft Teams meetings.

Next steps : To help prevent similar impact in the future, Microsoft are further reviewing the underlying cause of the regression and how we can improve our validation procedures to catch such issues before deployment.
