Issue Description: Some users may be unable to create Microsoft Teams live events using the new Microsoft Teams desktop client.

More info: Until the impact is remediated, users can create Teams Live Events using the Teams Web client or Mac client.

Final Update: 26/06/2024 08:53:00 AM – Microsoft’s extended monitoring period is complete, and they have confirmed that impact is remediated.

Scope of impact: Some users creating Live Events in the new Microsoft Teams desktop client may be impacted.

Root cause: A change deployed to the infrastructure responsible for routing Microsoft Teams meeting join URLs introduced an error that led to impact.

Next steps: Microsoft are reviewing their Microsoft Teams desktop client update procedures pertaining to the code pathways used to route live event join URLs to prevent similar impact in future updates.
