This document has been produced for a technical audience who have an understanding of the installation of Microsoft products and have experience working with identity products.

NHSmail will continue to support the manual data updates and Push Connector methods. The new publishing service will replace Pull Connectors and will be called the Accenture New Synchronisation (TANSync) Service.

The TANSync deployment guide describes how organisations can automatically create and update users on the NHSmail platform from a local Structured Query Language (SQL) Server database or Active Directory (AD) using the Microsoft Identity Management (MIM) product.

Address book synchronisation allows third party organisations to access NHSmail Directory entries (user details) and copy them into their own internal Microsoft Active Directory (thus making them available to applications such as Microsoft Exchange).
