Issue Description: Users may see various issue with sharing of Agent Builders in Copilot Studio.

More info: In the “Share dialog”, the operation appears to complete successfully, but the share targets aren’t actually saved. Users you add don’t gain access, and users you remove may keep it. Since sharing looks successful, impacted users may not notice it until later, when added or removed people don’t persist in the shared-users list.

Specifically, impact happens only if the agent’s knowledge sources include a SharePoint Online site that was added from the grounding menu. Agents without such a source are not affected.

While the initial fix will prevent any new agents from entering the impacted state, affected users may perform the following steps for agents that are already impacted:

1) Open the affected agent and remove the SharePoint site knowledge source. (keep all other knowledge/media sources).

2) Re-add the SharePoint site. (if doesn’t work remove and re-add)
Retry Share and confirm the intended users now appear in the shared-users list.

Current Update: 04/09/2026 09:20:00 AM – Microsoft has determined that a previous deployment to Agent Builder contains a code issue that’s resulting in various issues with sharing of Agent Builders in Copilot Studio. They have developed two parallel fixes to address this issue, and the first code change to ensure that new SharePoint Online site sources are no longer affected has successfully been deployed. The affected sources are now automatically repaired when agents are published or shared, preventing further agents from entering the impacted state. They are monitoring as the secondary fix is deployed to clean up agents that were already affected throughout the duration of this event.

Scope of impact: Some users utilising Agent Builders in Copilot Studio may be impacted.

Root cause: A previous deployment to Agent Builder contains a code issue that’s resulting in various issues with sharing of Agent Builders in Copilot Studio.
