Issue Description: Users may have been intermittently unable to generate Copilot meeting notes in Microsoft Teams.

More Info: Affected users intermittently may have received a message indicating that meeting notes or transcript content wasn’t available when attempting to generate a meeting recap, despite transcription being enabled for the meeting. Some users may have also experienced intermittent behavior where Copilot meeting notes worked for certain meetings but failed for others.

Final Update: 27/08/2026 10:25:00 AM – Microsoft has completed rolling back the offending update, and they have validated by monitoring internal telemetry that the issue is resolved.

Scope of impact: This incident impacted some users that attempted to generate Copilot meeting notes in Microsoft Teams.

Root cause: A recent service update introduced an authentication issue that resulted in impact.

Next steps: Microsoft is further reviewing the service update to understand how the authentication issue was introduced, and to understand what prevented it from being detected in their update testing and validation procedures, which will allow them to prevent similar issues in future updates.
