Issue Description: Users’ files uploaded to Microsoft Teams channels may be incorrectly hosted on the users” OneDrive for Business.

More info: The affected files were accessible, and no errors were reported.

Impact was specific to files uploaded to Microsoft Teams channels during a meeting. Files uploaded after a meeting had ended were hosted on the channel’s SharePoint Online site as expected.

Final Update: 20/01/2024 16:15:00 PM– Microsoft have confirmed the deployment has completed, and impact has been remediated after a period of monitoring. Affected users will not need to take any action to experience relief, any newly uploaded files in Microsoft Teams channels during a meeting will be uploaded to the channel SharePoint site as expected.

Scope of impact: Impact was specific to some users who were served through the affected infrastructure who were uploading files to Microsoft Teams channels during meetings.

Root Cause: A recent standard service update contained a code regression, which resulted in impact.

Next steps: Microsoft are reviewing their standard service update procedures to better identify similar issues during their development and testing cycles.
