Pritchard Release – Content Summary

The NHSmail Portal release is named in honour of Professor Joanna Pritchard, who was awarded an OBE in 2021 for their services to Social Enterprises in Health and Social Care.

Please find below a summary of the main content of the Pritchard release which will deploy on 17th September 2024.

Portal AD Functionality

  • 89619: Add Exchange Online (Plan 2) as a Supported Add-on License

As part of this PBI, the Exchange Online (Plan 2) license may be purchased locally and applied to user policies as an add-on to enable larger mailboxes. Once selected the ‘Larger Mailbox Size Enabled’ toggle will appear, it will be switched off by default but when enabled will grant user policy members a mailbox size of 99GB.

  • 89130: Removal of Invalid Statuses from the Drop-down List Used to Filter Distribution Lists (DL)

As part of this PBI, the following statuses will be removed from the drop-down list used to filter DLs:

  • Disabled
  • Unknown

The following statuses will remain:

  • Active
  • Pending
  • Rejected
  • 53056: Back Button Added to the Page “Show Recent Logons”

As part of this PBI, a “Back” button has been added to the “Show Recent Logons” page within the User Details page.

  • 74073: Add Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise (Device) License

As part of this PBI, the Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise (Device) license will be introduced to enable license assignment to devices. Existing Apps for Enterprise (AfE) licenses are applied on a per-user basis whereas this licence will be assigned to a device instead.

These will not be applied through user policies, instead, a “Device Group” will be created in Entra ID granting specified devices access to the AfE functionality.
