Issue Description: Admins may be unable to create new teams in the Microsoft Teams desktop client.
More info: Impact is specific to admins of organizations that don’t have any sensitivity labels configured.
Affected admins are seeing the error:
“We couldn’t complete that action.”
While Microsoft are working to remediate impact, affected admins can still create teams using the Teams admin center.
Final Update: 17/07/2024 08:47:00 AM – Microsoft have confirmed that the deployment of the fix is complete and validated with affected users that the issue has been remediated.
Scope of impact: Any admin of an organization without configured sensitivity labels attempting to create new teams using the Microsoft Teams desktop client may be impacted.
Root cause: A recent feature update contains a regression, preventing the Teams client from responding as expected, resulting in impact.
Next steps: To help prevent similar impact in the future, Microsoft are further reviewing their feature implementation procedures to proactively identify regressions before being applied.
