Issue Description: Users may have been unable to make direct calls or register new devices in Microsoft Teams.
More info: Specifically, affected users may have been unable to register devices to SIP Gateway.
Final Update: 13/05/2024 08:54:00 AM – Microsoft confirmed following an extended monitoring period that their fix was effective, and impact to end users has been remediated.
Scope of impact: Impact was specific to some users who were served through the affected infrastructure.
Root cause: A change within a recent service update, applied to a section of infrastructure responsible for regulating Microsoft Teams calling and device registration, unexpectedly caused a configuration issue which resulted in impact.
Next steps: Microsoft are reviewing their deployment and provisioning procedures to help prevent reoccurrence of similar problems in the future.
