Issue Description: Some users may be unable to use the Whiteboard app in the Microsoft Teams desktop application or web client.
More Info: As a workaround, affected users are able to use screensharing.
Final Update: 21/03/2024 09:17:00 AM – Following the completed deployment of Microsoft’s solution, they reviewed internal telemetry and confirmed that impact has been remediated.
Scope of impact: Your organization is impacted by this event, and some users may be unable to use the Whiteboard app in the Microsoft Teams desktop application or web client.
Root cause: A service change was causing incorrect user data to be passed from Microsoft Teams and leveraged when connecting to a specific endpoint that facilitates the process of opening the Whiteboard app in Microsoft Teams.
Next steps: Microsoft are further analyzing the offending service update so they can help isolate similar issues during their change testing and validation processes, and to understand why impact to the Whiteboard app wasn’t identified prior to deploying the update
