Issue Status : RESOLVED

Issue Description : Admins can’t perform migrations to Microsoft Teams channels via the SharePoint Migration Tool (SPMT).

This issue is also affecting admins when performing migrations via the Migration Manager tool.

Scope of Impact : Any admins hosted on the affected infrastructure that are performing migrations to Microsoft Teams channels utilizing the SPMT or Migration Manager tool are impacted.

Final Update : 01/11/2022 07:35:00 AM – While working to prepare a code fix, Microsoft determined that disabling the offending code portion would be a more efficient and expeditious means of remediating impact. The code portion was successfully disabled, and they have confirmed with previously affected users that the issue is now resolved.

Root Cause : An update error is blocking SharePoint Online folder data from being updated in Microsoft Teams channels when admins attempt migrations via the SPMT.

Next steps : Microsoft is continuing to investigate how the error which blocked the migrations was introduced to prevent similar issues from happening in the future.
