Issue Description: Some users may be unable to start recordings in Microsoft Teams meetings

More info: Users attempting to start the recording may see a message that states recordings may not be started.

Final Update: 15/05/2026 08:48:00 AM –Microsoft has confirmed that our fix to correct the configuration issue completed as expected and has remediated this impact.

Scope of impact: Some users in Europe, Middle East, and Africa attempting to start recordings in Microsoft Teams meetings may be impacted. This information may be updated as our investigation continues.

Root cause: A network configuration issue is causing Domain Name System (DNS) timeouts.

Next steps : Microsoft are reviewing the responsible network configuration issue to better understand what led to the timeouts that resulted in impact and prevent similar future occurrences.
