NHSmail Reference: INC46722397

Microsoft Reference: DZ1185763

Issue Status: ONGOING

Issue Description: Users’ supervised iOS devices with Microsoft Defender control filter profiles may see network connectivity losses.

More info: Specifically, devices running iOS 26.1 that are being updated to Microsoft Defender App version 1.1.70290103 are getting into an inconsistent network connectivity state during updates and are unable to connect to either Wi-Fi or cellular networks. The following step can be performed to recover affected devices:

A factory reset can be performed to restore access and reinstall Microsoft Defender. We recommend backing up the device information prior to implementation to ensure data is retained. More information is available in Apple’s documentation here https://support.apple.com/en-us/108931

Current Update: 14/01/2026 09:06:00 AM Our upcoming Defender for iOS app update is on track to start deploying during the week of January 19, 2026. They expect to have a timeline for the deployment completion by our next scheduled update. They will continue to encourage admins to prioritise updating all supervised iOS devices with control filter profiles to iOS 26.2 as early as possible to prepare for this update. To accelerate organisation-wide OS updates, organisations may also leverage Intune update policies and minimum OS version compliance requirement policies to fast‑track adoption of iOS 26.2 across all supervised devices.

For users not yet on Defender app version 1.1.70290103, admins can guide them through the following steps as validation:
– Update the device to iOS 26.2.
– After updating iOS, enable Sysdiagnose to collect system logs.
– Update the Microsoft Defender app to version 1.1.70290103.
– Validate the fix using the following steps:
Check whether the app remains stuck on the “Updating…” state.
Check whether the device still experiences “No Internet” connectivity issues.
– If the issue reproduces, collect Sysdiagnose logs and provide them for further investigation.
