Information – OneDrive Storage Quota maintenance
07/08/2025 17:00 PM
Microsoft have informed us that they are required to perform some maintenance on the tenant which involves the enablement of a script which runs on each users’ One Drive Accounts when they log in or performed once a week on a Sunday.
This script ran at the end of May 2025 and subsequently reduced users quotas who were not correctly licenced. This script was stopped and accounts reverted whilst we communicated out to LOA’s and PLA’s that Enhanced Organisations should not be impacted as One Drive business (1TB) comes as standard in the M365 E3R whereas for Standard Organisations the default is 2GB. This can be increased to 1TB by applying your users with an Apps For Enterprise User licence.
We have identified users in organisations and will be contacting Local Administrators who have users at risk of being over that 2GB quota and should either reduce their One Drive storage or require an Apps For Enterprise User licence to uplift them to 1TB.
This work is scheduled to take place on the week commencing 1st September 2025.
