Issue Status: RESOLVED

Issue Description: Some users may be unable to access SharePoint Online sites.

Final Update: 23/02/2026 08:38:00 AM – Microsoft has identified that a portion of the SharePoint Online database infrastructure was operating in a suboptimal state, resulting in impact. Their automated recovery system routed service requests to an alternate portion of database infrastructure and repaired this problem, and they have confirmed that service was restored after monitoring the environment.

Scope of impact: Some users hosted in the United Kingdom region attempting to access SharePoint Online sites may have been impacted.

Root cause: A portion of the SharePoint Online database infrastructure was operating in a suboptimal state, resulting in impact.

Next steps: While the impact related to site access was resolved by our automated recovery system, we’re reviewing telemetry and other data related to this event to better understand what caused the issue
