Issue Description: Users’ Microsoft 365 Copilot rewrite function outputs are incorrect or show unexpected text in some Outlook apps.

Final Update: 05/03/2026 8:20:00 AM –Microsoft has determined that a recent Outlook client service update introduced a regression within the Copilot rewrite function, which led to impact. We developed and deployed a build to correct this issue within Outlook version update 20260220002.09. Impacted users should reload their Outlook clients in order to receive this update version 20260220002.09 and remediate impact.

Scope of impact: Your organisation was impacted by this event, and users’ Copilot rewrite function outputs in Outlook on the web and desktop apps were affected.

Root cause: A recent Outlook client service update introduced a regression within the Copilot rewrite function and resulted in impact.

Next steps: Microsoft are reviewing our service update processes for the impacted environment based on our findings from this event to inform us on how we might better detect and prevent similar service incidents from occurring in the future.
