Issue Description: Users’ queries may fail with an error message in Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat.

More info: Users may have seen the following error message: “Sorry, something went wrong. Service unavailable. Please try again.”

Final Update: 03/02/2026 8:58:00 AM– Microsoft has completed the service instance restarts across the final portions of the impacted environment and verified through internal telemetry that impact is fully remediated.

Scope of impact: Any user attempting to run queries in Copilot Chat may have experienced failures in completing the action.

Root cause: Root cause: A configuration service utilized in the flow of completing this operation fell below optimal operating thresholds, resulting in impact.

Next steps: Microsoft are continuing to monitor the affected service flow closely to gain further insight into the source of the underlying issue and identify ways we can better prevent similar impact in the future.
