Issue Description: Admins may be unable to see details for some mailboxes when using the Get-MailboxStatistics cmdlet in PowerShell.
More Info: Admins receive an error that states “Failed to commit the change on object “” because access is denied.” when attempting to use the Get-MailboxStatistics cmdlet in PowerShell for some mailboxes
Final Update: 30/05/2025 08:20:00 AM – The fix deployment completed to the affected infrastructure, and Microsoft can see based on their telemetry that the failures are back within the expected service levels and the impact is remediated.
Scope of impact: Any admin attempting to see the details of some mailboxes using the Get-MailboxStatistics cmdlet in PowerShell may be impacted.
Root cause: A recent service update modified the GetMailboxTableInfo API, causing a compatibility issue when the client and supporting infrastructure aren”t utilizing the same version, resulting in impact.
Next steps: Microsoft are reviewing our service update procedures to find ways to better access and prevent similar compatibility issues from causing impact in the future.
