Issue Description: Users are unable to open or change reports that have a table which is named “Measures” and receive an error.

More Info: To bypass impact, users can download and use a previous version of Power BI Desktop, which does not face this issue such as the January 2025 release.

Final Update: 03/03/2025 09:40:00 AM – Microsoft have confirmed the latest update is now available for users to download (Version: 2.140.1205.0 64-bit (February 2025)) and confirmed with a subset of users that it successfully remediates impact as expected.

Scope of impact: Your organization is impacted by this event, and users are unable to open or change reports that have a table which is named “Measures” and receive an error.

Root cause: A change introduced in the initial February 2025 release of Power BI Desktop that was intended to validate files upon opening is resulting in impact.
