Issue Description: Users may see stale application data usage insights in Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps.

Final Update: 24/09/2024 08:50:00 AM – Microsoft have completely reverted the affected service update and confirmed this has successfully remediated impact.

Scope of impact : Your organization is affected by this event, and some users attempting to utilize application data usage insights in Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps are impacted.

Root cause: A recent service update intended to help improve the ingestion and processing of Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps data is resulting in impact.

Next steps: Microsoft are reviewing options to potentially replay application data usage insights which didn’t populate.

Microsoft are reviewing their service update testing and validation procedures to identify how the update led to this problem, which will assist us in improving our pre-deployment checks to prevent the introduction of similar impact in the future.
