Issue Status: RESOLVED
Issue Description: Users on version 128 of the Microsoft Edge browser may not have been able to load the start page at launch.
More info: This event impacted specifically versions between 128.0.2739.42 and 128.0.2739.54 of the Microsoft Edge browser. The start page should have loaded as expected on other Microsoft Edge browser versions.
Specifically, this affected users with an E5 license and data loss prevention (DLP) policies enabled.
Current Update: 30/08/2024 08:48:00 AM – Microsoft have completed the development and deployment of their fix, and confirmed that the latest version of the Microsoft Edge browser is no longer impacted. If the Microsoft Edge updater is in use, impacted users should experience relief after the Microsoft Edge version 128.0.2739.54 reaches their device and the Microsoft Edge browser is restarted. For organizations manually deploying updates, users should experience relief when the Microsoft Edge version update is manually pushed and the browser is restarted.
Scope of impact: Any user with an E5 license and DLP policies enabled may have not been able to load the start page when launching the Microsoft Edge browser.
Root cause: A code issue within the version 128 update for the Microsoft Edge browser was causing users with DLP policies enabled to be impacted.
Next steps: Microsoft are reviewing their update testing and validation methods to better identify similar code issues prior to deployment to prevent similar impact in the future.
