Issue Description: Microsoft Fabric users intermittently couldn’t perform operations on PBIX files with labels, reports, and artifacts.
More info: Impacted Microsoft Fabric users also intermittently couldn’t perform Create and Export operations on artifacts with Sensitivity labels. All affected interactive operations were successful on retry.
Final Update: 16/12/2024 09:00:00 AM – Microsoft have deployed the code fix to all affected environments and confirmed through monitoring service telemetry that impact has been remediated.
Scope of impact: Your organization was affected by this issue, and some Microsoft Fabric users attempting to perform interactive operations on PBIX files, reports, and artifacts with Sensitivity labels were intermittently impacted.
Root cause: A recent change intended to improve authentication efficiency was causing exceptions, resulting in impact.
Next Steps: Microsoft are reviewing their feature update testing and validation methods to better identify the potential for impact to Microsoft Fabric operations prior to deployment to prevent similar impact in the future, and to improve their pre-deployment update testing processes.
