Issue Description : Users on ”Litigation Hold” may be unable to move email messages to the archive folder in Exchange Online.

Final Update : 16/08/2023 15:40:00 PM – Microsoft have confirmed the fix has finished deploying to affected user environments and that impact has been remediated.

Scope of impact : Impact may be specific to any user on ”Litigation Hold” attempting to move email messages to the archive folder in Exchange Online.

Root cause : ”Contact Objects” are being unexpectedly duplicated and causing users to reach their folder limits, preventing email messages from being moved into the archive folder.

Next steps : Microsoft are reviewing their ”Contact Objects” procedures to help prevent this issue from happening again.
