Information – Change in Microsoft Teams Room licensing

Please be aware of an important update from Microsoft about Teams Rooms device licensing that may affect users in your organisation.

From 1 July 2023, users, including Microsoft Surface Hub users will no longer be able to use their user subscription licenses to log into their Microsoft Teams Rooms devices.

This means that the E3R licence will no longer be usable for Teams Rooms devices.

Microsoft now offers only the below licence type for Teams Rooms systems that participate in Teams meetings and calls:

  • Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro
