Issue Description : Users’ “From” field may have been missing when composing new messages in Outlook on the web.

Final Update : 20/01/2023 09:00:00 AM– Microsoft has completed extensive monitoring and confirmed with some more users that the impact is remediated. Please clear the web browser”s cache and then refresh Outlook on the web to fully enable the fix.

Scope of impact : This event may have affected some users who attempted to use the “From” field when composing new messages in Outlook on the web.

Root Cause : A recent Outlook on the web update to fix an issue that occurs in the Side-by-Side view in Outlook on the web exposed a code regression that prevented the “From” field from being displayed to some users when composing new messages.

Next steps : To help prevent similar impact in the future, Microsoft is further reviewing the underlying cause of the code regression and how they can improve their validation procedures to catch such issues before deployment.
