Issue Description : Users may be incorrectly routed to a new Outlook on the web tab when opening a SharePoint or OneDrive link in email.

More Information : This issue affects SharePoint Online or OneDrive for Business links opened specifically from an Outlook on the web email. When a user clicks a link and is redirected to a new Outlook on the web tab, the tab doesn’t include the content they are seeking, only a new instance of their Outlook on the web mailbox.

Final Update : 30/01/2023 08:45:00 AM – Microsoft have confirmed with a subset of affected users that impact was successfully remediated.

Scope of impact : This issue affects some Outlook on the web users that are clicking on a SharePoint Online or OneDrive link in email.

Root cause : A code regression introduced within a recent standard service update is causing impact.

Next steps : Microsoft are reviewing their service update procedures to identity how the regression was introduced and better prevent similar future impact.
