Issue Description : Administrators may be unable to edit SharePoint Online sites URLs

Scope of impact : Impact is specific to some users who are served through the affected infrastructure.

Final Update : 20/07/2022 16:50:00 PM – Microsoft’s service monitoring telemetry has identified a recent standard service update which had introduced a code regression that was preventing administrators from editing SharePoint Online site URLs. After reverting the offending service change, they have confirmed with affected administrators that impact has been remediated.

Root cause : A recent standard service update inadvertently introduced a code regression which was preventing administrators from editing SharePoint Online site URLs.

Next steps : Microsoft are reviewing their update procedures to better understand why the change resulted in impact and to help identify similar issues during our development and testing cycles.
