Windows 365 Licensing

Use of the central license pot

NHS organisations have the option to use the licenses below acquired by NHS England from the central pot at no cost up until March 2025, subject to availability:

  • Windows 365 Enterprise 2 vCPU, 8 GB, 128 GB
  • Windows 365 Enterprise 4 vCPU, 16 GB, 128 GB

To kick-start the process, the appointed Local Administrator (LA) will need to fill out the Helpdesk Self-Service to onboard and specify the number of licenses required by under the ‘license information’ section. The Intune Live Service Team will then assess and review the submission. Upon successful approval, access will be granted to the LA, who are then able to manage the membership of licensing user groups to provision Cloud PCs.

BYOL (Bring Your Own License)

NHS organisations can also acquire and purchase the add-on licenses listed below. To do this, the LA will need to submit a request by completing the Helpdesk Self-Service and selecting ‘License Onboarding’. The request will then be reviewed and processed by the NHSmail AM Portal. Once confirmed, licenses will be made available in the NHSmail portal. The LA will be notified and can then allocate the license policy to enable Cloud PC provisioning.

For awareness, the following NHSmail licenses must be enabled to support provisioning and usage of a Cloud PC for each user:
