Introduction
Microsoft and NHS have partnered together to discount all Azure and security courses, so they are free for all NHS staff. This includes:
- Free instructor led courses
- Exam preparation sessions and practice exams
- Exams – these are part funded and local organisations are expected to fund the remaining cost of the exam
To access these benefits, you will need to sign in to the Microsoft Enterprise Skills (ESI) Initiative portal using your nhs.net email address to create a learner profile. Enterprise Skills Initiative: Welcome (microsoft.com)
Getting started
The fundamental courses are a good starting point, and you can pick the level you want to start from the learning pathways (fundamentals to start, then focus with advanced courses). For further information on the learning pathways please visit Microsoft Azure and security skills – NHS England
These courses require no pre-requisites or prior knowledge. Each fundamentals course leads to an optional exam, after which you will be awarded with Microsoft certification.
Please note, from 30 May 2022, if a learner fails to attend 3 scheduled exams within 180 days, they will be asked to pay a deposit for any subsequent exams. Upon completion of subsequent exams (at the scheduled times) the deposit will be refunded within 5-7 working days.
