Issue Description: Some users may see intermittent errors when accessing SharePoint Online sites or content.

Final Update: 15/07/2025 09:35:00 AM – Microsoft have confirmed from service telemetry that this problem is no longer occurring due to their fix deployment, and they’ve determined that the issue is resolved.

Scope of impact: Some users attempting to access SharePoint Online sites or content may see intermittent 404 errors, which may prevent those users from accessing the requested sites or content.

Root cause: A recent service update is causing deadlocks during requests in SharePoint Online, which is causing intermittent errors with access requests to sites and content.

Next steps: Microsoft are reviewing their service update testing and validation procedures to better detect and prevent issues like this prior to deployment in the future.
