Issue Status: RESOLVED

Issue Description: Users may be unable to use Python advanced analysis in Microsoft Copilot for Excel.

More Info: When users attempt to use Python advance analysis in Copilot for Excel, they may receive an error which states: “Whoops, I’m not able to understand this yet. Is there something else I can do to help?”

Additionally, when users attempt to use the preset prompt, “Get deeper analysis results using Python,” they may encounter an endless progress bar and the prompt doesn’t complete.

Final Update: 16/06/2025 08:42:00 AM Microsoft confirmed the deployment successfully completed to the affected infrastructure and monitored the telemetry to validate that the impact was remediated.

Scope of impact: Any user attempting to use Python advanced analysis in Copilot for Excel or use the preset prompt, “Get deeper analysis results using Python” may be impacted

Root cause: A recent service change, designed to add additional service health telemetry, is causing impact.

Next steps: Microsoft are reviewing their service update procedures to find effective methods of identifying similar issues prior to their implementation in the future.
