Issue Description: Users are unable save live connected reports in the Power BI Desktop August 2025 version

More info: When opening a live connected report and clicking the “Make changes to this model” users will see that it converts to the DirectQuery model, and the report cannot be saved.

While they are focused on remediation, users may be able to open the Power BI Desktop app first, then under recent files, click on the .pbix file to open it. Users should be able to save changes successfully after clicking “Make changes to the model”.

Final Update: 29/08/2025 08:45:00 AM – The fix deployment completed and after a period of monitoring, Microsoft have confirmed impact was remediated.
