This guide provides details about what is included in the SharePoint migration to nhs.net and what actions colleagues should consider.
What is Migrating?
SharePoint Sites will automatically be migrated to nhs.net in two stages:
- Firstly, modern SharePoint sites that are connected to O365 Groups & MS Teams will be migrated on 10 July.
- Following this, all in-scope standalone/classic SharePoint sites that are not connected to O365 Groups/Teams will be migrated on 31 July.
SharePoint migration will include:
- All files and folders, including:
- Files/folders with unique permissions (where folders have been shared with additional users, where folders have been locked down)
- Previous versions and modified dates
- All document libraries, lists and pages
- Files/folders with unique permissions (where folders have been shared with additional users, where folders have been locked down)
- Previous versions and modified dates
What is not Migrating?
- Any external permissions (where files/folders were previously shared with an external/guest user)
- Items in SharePoint Recycle Bins
- SharePoint sites with 0GB data
- Document Library settings
- Custom permission levels defined at the source site
- SharePoint sites that are either a Project, Publishing, or app site
What do I need to do?
- Ahead of Switchover Day, you can apply for the Guest Inviter Role to be added to your nhs.net account if you share files with external recipients (further details on the “How should I prepare?” page).
