Issue Status: ONGOING

Issue Description: Users’ files uploaded to Microsoft Teams channels may be incorrectly hosted on the users’ OneDrive for Business.

Current Update: 06/12/2024 13:21:00 PM – Microsoft are continuing to validate the fix to ensure its efficacy in mitigating impact, and expect the deployment to start by Monday, January 6, 2024.

Scope of impact: Impact is specific to some users who are served through the affected infrastructure attempting to view previews of sent images from the Microsoft Teams desktop app.

Root cause: A recent update, intended to enable a feature focused on improving image handling in Microsoft Teams chats, inadvertently introduced a code regression causing images to not be checked for successful upload status” before being sent.
